With its sterling reputation and over a century of experience, Bellows has become a landmark in the construction industry. Since 1914, Bellows has left its mark with projects in the cultural arts, office/mixed-use, industrial, healthcare, religious, and education sectors.
Tom Bellows, son of Warren S. Bellows, Jr., joined the company in 1978 and was President from 1987 until his death in 2007.
The Wortham Center stands as a monument to the generosity of Houston’s foundations, corporations, and individuals and is a symbol of the heart and spirit of Houston. The Wortham Center was recognized as the most significant new opera and ballet house in the nation upon its original completion in 1987.
Vice President of Safety, Tommy Lee received the first annual Ray Lambright Excellence in Safety Award from Houston Chapter Associated General Contractors of America, 1994.
On February 22, 2000, Bellows was the first contractor accepted into the OSHA-Houston Chapter AGC partnering program and the first contractor in all of OSHA’s Region 6 (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and New Mexico) to be so recognized.
Laura Bellows became Executive Vice President in 2007, Chairman of the Board in 2008, President in 2012, and CEO and Chairman from 2018 – present.
In January 2009, Bellows opened its Medical Center Renovation Team office in the Texas Medical Center to exclusively perform renovation work for healthcare facilities and other institutions in the area. Received the National Associated General Contractors of America Construction Safety Excellence Award for 2011, 2014, 2017, and 2020.
In 2017, Bellows won the AGC Construction Safety Excellence Awards, Building Division Grand Award. Bellows is the only general contractor in Texas to ever receive this honor.
In October 2018, Jack Bellows became President while Laura Bellows became CEO and remains Chairman of the Board.
