St. Agnes Academy is developing and renovating its performing arts and student life facility on campus, including the addition of the new Sr. Janey Meyer Auditorium and Performance hall, Student Commons, the Jamieson Family Dance Studio, and additional classrooms and parking. The new $26.5 million, 12,000-sf multipurpose venue with 1,300 seats and a 3,500-sf balcony can double as a lecture hall for up to 300 people. The project also includes the transformation of the school’s existing 7,000-sf auditorium into a new student life center and the current stage will be transformed into an enclosed small theater and actor’s lab with 120 seats. The commons area will stand at 8,500 square feet. The new 4,500-sf dance studio will be constructed to provide space for up to 87 dancers from the their original capacity of only 10. A new speech and debate space with a communications classroom, two practice rooms and two additional practice rooms will be shared with the vocal and instrumental programs. The project is estimated to be completed in September 2018. The project started in June 2017 with a completion date of Fall 2018.
