The San Jacinto Monument was built in dedication to those who fought for Texas’ Independence. It features iconic, Art Deco architecture. At 570 feet tall, it stands 15 feet taller than the Washington Monument and is the world’s tallest war memorial. The innovative project included the first continuous pouring of a mat foundation. The San Jacinto Monument is recognized as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in the American Society of Civil Engineers.
