Honoring Our Past. Celebrating Our Future.

With its sterling reputation and century of experience, Bellows has become a landmark in the construction industry. Over the past 100 years, Bellows has left its mark with projects in the cultural arts, office/mixed-use, industrial, healthcare, religious, and education sectors. Founded by Warren Sylvanus Bellows in 1914 and still family-owned and led, W. S. Bellows Construction Corporation began in Canada, relocated to Kansas City, Kansas, and from there moved to Oklahoma City in 1920. In 1936, Bellows moved its headquarters to Houston, Texas after winning the contract to build the San Jacinto Monument.

W. S. Bellows built a substantial portion of Houston’s skyline, including Texas Children’s Hospital Pavilion for Women, Wortham Theater Center, and One Shell Plaza. Other historic projects include the University of Texas Tower and the Humble (now Exxon) Building. Bellows has a longstanding history of building in the Texas Medical Center and has completed over 300 renovation and building projects including work for Baylor, St. Luke’s Medical Center, Memorial Hermann Hospital, and Texas Children’s Hospital. Bellows has been a continuing presence at Texas Children’s Hospital since 1989 when it began building the Feigin Center and the Clinical Care Center. Bellows opened a satellite office in the Texas Medical Center’s Middle Campus in January 2009 to facilitate the growing number of healthcare/institutional projects. This Medical Center Renovation Team office is dedicated specifically to renovation/addition work for area hospitals and institutions such as Rice University.

Strong, ethical leadership has been a constant for the company for the past century and counting. Following Warren S. Bellows, the company was led by his sons Warren, Jr. and George, and then by his grandson Tom Bellows. Laura Bellows now serves as President and Chairman of the Board.

W. S. Bellows Construction is grateful to be recognized over the years with numerous industry awards for its exceptional work and safety innovations, but the company is most proud of its reputation. The Bellows family and the company’s dedicated personnel have together built an enduring reputation of consummate quality and utmost integrity which undergirds W. S. Bellows Construction Corporation.
